.Lia Wisteria Brookes. Name: Lia Wisteria Brookes Nickname(s): Wish Age: 20 Gender: Female Trainer Class: Trainer Home Region: Hoenn Hometown: Mauville City – Lavaridge Town Favourite Starter: Cyndaquil Favourite Pokemon Type: Fire & Dark Personality: When one looks at Lia, they might think she must be timid and quiet. After all, she’s obviously had a troubled youth- how else would she have such severe scarring? But they would be surprised. Lia is anything but timid. Actually, Lia is quite a confident woman. She knows her own mind and isn’t afraid to speak it, and can be very fierce at times. Anyone who dares to bring up her scars or jokes about her limp or scarred eye, would find themselves on the receiving end of a punch or, depending on how good her leg is on that occasion, a kick. Later, when she begins training Pokémon, she would even ask her Pokémon to attack on her behalf to defend her ‘honour’. Lia can be quiet at times, usually when other people are talking about their childhoods, or boasting of family Pokémon. She also goes very quiet when she’s getting angry, or feeling uneasy about something, and is quite a wary person, always trying to take precautions to try and avoid conflict. She has a very strong sense of loyalty to family, and simply cannot understand why someone would speak ill of their relatives, or why someone would leave them. She’s also quite loyal to friends, though not to the same extent. Appearance: Lia is a woman nobody can forget- and not in a good way. While she could have been beautiful, with long, strawberry blonde hair and skin tanned from time out in the open air, her looks are marred by a number of scars. Most notable is a set of three, uneven scars over her left eye, as if done by the claws of some sort of Pokémon- that eye was damaged beyond repair, leaving her completely blind. Similarly uneven scars can be found on her right jawline and, when she’s confident enough to expose it, her right shoulder- though this one seems to be done more by a sharp object than by claws. More scars are concealed beneath her clothing, including a severe one on her right hip. This scar is from a wound which damaged the muscle and bone beneath, and left her with a limp that only worsens when the weather gets cold- hence her fondness for fire Pokémon. All in all, Lia does not look like a very attractive young woman, and she does little to help that fact, refusing to wear makeup- it seems to only draw more attention to her eye- and wearing plain clothing, with the only thing she looks for being ‘does it cover most of my scars?’. History: Lia doesn’t remember much about her childhood. Anything before twelve is a bit of a hazy blur to her- and perhaps that’s a good thing, as it was when she was twelve that she was orphaned, and received the devastating injuries that have left her in her current state. But while she does not remember anything, she knows from being told- and from photos- that she was raised in Mauville City, and that her early life was a happy one, revolving around chasing her brother, Chase, and sister, Kai, around and generally getting up to mischief, as children often do. Many of the photos feature the same Houndoom by her side, always there as if protecting her and her siblings from harm. But she doesn’t remember it, and nobody ever speaks of it. After the events which led to Lia being orphaned, half-blinded and gaining her limp, she and her siblings were adopted by a kindly couple who moved to Lavaridge Town, and the siblings learnt of the legendary healing properties of the hot springs there. They spent many days in the hot springs, Kai and Chase hoping it would heal Lia’s injuries. Unfortunately, it never did, but during that time they managed to make a few friends. Time passed. Chase and Kai, though both eager to be on their trainer adventures, stayed with Lia, wanting to help for reasons Lia couldn’t understand. She never knew they felt responsible for her injuries. But when they turned nineteen, they could wait no longer. Even Lia felt the urge to leave and explore. So they said farewell to their adopted parents- the only parents Lia could remember- and set out to Kanto together, where they would separate to begin their journeys. For the first time in her life, Lia would find herself alone, with nobody to help her. Anything Else: -Approaching Lia on her blind side will likely earn a snappy remark if she feels it was intentional. However she can normally tell if someone’s there by listening to their footsteps. -She’s very reliant on others thanks to her siblings’ efforts, but tries to be be independent. -Lia carries a cane, for use when her limp is especially bad. Her limp- and the occasional pain- actually stems from the fact that as well as muscle damage, her hip was broken. -She has a brother and a sister, Chase and Kai, who are the same age as her, being triplets.
